Pastor Francis Ronogwa's passion for children of Kenya began in 1998 when AIDS began its widespread devastation. Francis lost 15 cousins and their spouses in a very short time and was heartbroken that their children has no where to turn.
He and his wife Florence felt called to take immediate action. Francis spoke with his brother Kefa who felt the same calling. Together they began what is now Shangilia. They have each sacrificed their own families, lives and inheritance to see this dream become reality. Francis exudes God's light and lives by sacrificial example of Christ. | Shangilia Children's HomeShangilia means Rejoice in Swahili
Shangilia Children's Home is located in a small village outside of Kisumu called Vihiga in Kenya Africa. It currently cares for 40 children from ages 1-19. The goal is to upgrade Shangilia to house 100 children and progress is being made to this end. These children have come to Shangilia for many reasons such as being born out of wedlock and not accepted, or having one or both parents dying of AIDS. This home not only houses these children, but goes beyond to care for, feed, educate and teach the Love of God. Two brothers began this.... Dream For Kenya. Pastor Kefa Kadenge is the older brother of Francis and has also lived a life of service to the Lord. He attended Rod Parsley's Bible College from 1999-2002 and has used his skills to run several churches across various locations in Kenya. He and his wife Lonika train their people in God's Word and have come alongside Francis to love and care for the Kenyan orphans. Kefa is called to "train the children to grow into God fearing adults, who are mindful of others and responsible in their action". He is a prayer warrior and has a heart of gold. |
